RAPIDE SPRAY & SEAL MASTIC SEALANT is a flexible and durable coating that covers cracks and holes and can even be applied on wet or damp surfaces. Product will not sag or crack. Can be overpainted when dry (allow approximately 24 hours before application). Suitable for heavy duty plastic, slate, tile, felt, asphalt and metal. Its thick formula allows a rapid heavy coating.
Directions
Use only as directed. Use in a well-ventilated area. Shake can for at least 2-3 minutes in a side-to-side ‘whisking’ motion. Spray the can upright. Apply from approximately 40cm. If sealing a large area, work from out to in. If sealing a large hole, apply around the damaged area then cover the hole with gauze before applying to gauze making sure to completely cover it. Repeat applications may be required.
Guidance
When sealing gutter joints, pre-pack the joint with gauze. When applying using the aid of ladders, do not rest ladders on the area being sealed during or after use as this may damage the new seal. The source of many leaks is not necessarily above the drip. Apply product on all possible sources of the leak such as broken tiles, cracks in asphalt or felt and badly damaged render. Some leak sources are surrounded by dirt, rust, putty etc. DO NOT remove these before application as they will allow product to have a stronger bond.
Caution
Some plastics may be soluble to some of the chemicals used in this product which could cause damage – if in doubt always test on a small inconspicuous area first. Unsuitable for leaks in pipes etc, under mains water or central heating pump pressure.
Storage
Do not store in extremes of temperature. Protect from frost.
Caution
When dry sanding, wear a suitable face mask and avoid dust inhalation. Special precautions should be taken during surface preparation of pre-1960’s paint surface over wood and metal as they may contain harmful lead.
